RDA Diary entry 12. 4/20

It is easter day today! We are all very excited for it. We had a special easter event. I taught Xuan how to lead a horse, and she surprised me by pushing my hand away and saying, “I’ll do it myself!” But I was happy because it showed she was more independent and she wanted to take more initiative.

We hid plastic eggs with chocolate inside, and the children looked for them picked them up from horseback. We also played beanbag toss into a bucket. Later we did crafts, making horseshoe decorations together so we can practice handcrafting and patience and creativity.

I felt that my role had changed: I am not just a volunteer, but also a leader who makes sure the children are safe physically and emotionally. Seeing their progress makes me want to keep doing this work long-term.
