Soul and Saddle
Student-led equine program supporting neurodiverse children in Shanghai
RDA Diary entry 16. 6/22
I felt a bit sad because today was the last day of the quarter. We taught the children about grooming tools and how to use them on different parts of the horse. They also learned to lead horses into the arena.
At the end, the coach gave each child a certificate, a badge, and personal feedback about their progress. The kids were very happy.
Xuan has moved to another group, but before leaving she ran to me and said, “I love you, Reanna!” She even kissed me on the cheek. I felt so moved that I cried and I wanted to stay with her. After months of hard work, I finally saw how much this meant.
Now we take a break until September. I already look forward to seeing them again.
