RDA Diary Entry 4: 12/1

It is an incredible day. Xuan arrived at the barn with so much confidence and she has become more affectionate with the horses. At the end of our session, she's eager to give the pony Goldfish a hug and a kiss, something she would habe been too scared to do just a few weeks ago.
Today, we worked on navigating through an obstable course with poles set in S-shape, which is hard. I guided Xuan, and she irects the pony through the course. Sometimes she gets frustrated when the pole got hit, but she catches on quickly. One of the more exciting activities that she enjoys more is troting. It was the first time for Xuan, and though it was a bit bumpy, she loved it! "It's like a rollercoaster!" I recalled Xuan saying. Of course, safety is our top priority so we had two side walkers ensuring her safety. Her face lit up as she trotted all around the field.
At the end of the session, Xuan asked for a carrot. Xuan then went up to Goldfish and gave her a carrot, saying "Goldfish, I love you." This was the first time she'd ever fed the pony! I could see how much their relationship had grown. Goldfish has also been so supportive throughout the process.
